FASSBENDER THE ASSASSIN

By Sean Smyth

Looks like the popular X-Men star is spreading his wings and soaring off some tall building tops and into large piles of hay in the upcoming Assassin's Creed Movie.

Yeah, you read it right. As reported by Variety, Prometheus and X-Men star, Michael Fassbender will be donning the classic Ubisoft character in the white hood in the upcoming film adaptation as well as producing the picture.

But which one he will be playing is unconfirmed. Their is no denying that he does have a distinctive Desmond look, the main protagonist of each of the games. He's the guy who sits in a machine and recalls his ancestors past lives discovering who he really is and all that good stuff.

So Fassbender could also be playing any one of the assassins (Altair, Ezio, or even the newest Assassin, Connor) or as I hope for he will be playing Desmond and any of his alternate Assassin egos.

"Michael Fassbender was our first choice," said Jean-Julien Baronnet, CEO of newly founded Paris-baed Ubisoft Motion Picutres. "Michael is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor."

As you may know, Fassbender has become a rising star as of late and giving him this coveted fan favorite role that will most likely spawn even more sequels much like X-Men First class. And I personally think he would be great in any and all the parts. There hasn't been a movie he's been in that I haven't liked.

The film is working independently with Fassbender's production studio DMC Film so they can retain as much control over the movie as possible. However once the entire production package has been completed they will shop it around to additional studios for distribution and sale. You got to hit that budget some how.  So here's to hoping they do what is right and stick closely to the games and not let Hollywood screw over another great game franchise.

What do you think about Fassbender wearing the hood? Is he the right choice? Opinions go down south in that comment section labeled comments. Thanks for reading.
